South Yorkshire Transport Forum was first launched as a transport forum for the South Yorkshire area on the 7th February 2006 under the name of Travel South Yorkshire. The forum exists so like minded people who share a passion for the public transport industry can share their news and views. Whether they are enthusiasts, general members of the public and those who work in the transport industry.

In late October 2007 we launched the new South Yorkshire Transport Fleetlists website (formally Travel South Yorkshire Fleetlists), which provides fleetlists for all major bus operators in the South Yorkshire area. This was further amended in May 2008 when the website underwent a refurbishment and a name change.

In May 2008, the forum had undergone major changes with it being retitled South Yorkshire Transport Forum (formally Travel South Yorkshire Forum) along with a new look. The forum was also closed off to public viewing with only members being able to see the message boards. The changes were successful with more new members joining the forum and got much busier as a result of this change.

In November 2008 we appointed 2 new Staff Members to the forum and these are Captainsharpe1 & Dougie. These 2 members were appointed to the staff team to help moderate and maintain the forum as it continues to grow a a phenomenal rate.

Our most successful month since our records back back in February 2006 was February 2009 with over 16,000 people accessing our forum. That's an astonishing 571 people on average logging on to the forum each day.
